Goals

 * Guiding children to learn socially valid knowledge, ensuring the fundamental right of Education.

 *  Enhancing a humanistic approach based on the respect for the human being.

 *  Fostering the eagerness to know and investigate, providing the necessary tools to make it possible.

 *  Promoting the participation of all the members of the educational community in the learning process: children, teachers, professionals, and families developing projects open to the community.

 * Promoting the intellectual and emotional autonomy of those children who learn in this mixed, secular and bilingual school.

Above all, this school values the child by his being a child and guides them respecting their own timing and learning styles.

Our educational proposal is not only an intention, it is a continuous doing which is adjusted and reviewed permanently in order to improve every day; it is a school designed with the names of the children in mind and it is supported by a professional team that makes the task of educating thoroughly possible every day.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

•    Spanish curricular lessons: learning takes place in a direct contact with reality considering curricular goals, needs and interest of the different levels.

•    English curricular lessons: we provide a second language environment in which the child uses English as a medium of communicating, performing, understanding and expressing themselves naturally.

•    Information Technology (IT): using computers has become an everyday tool that makes effective learning across the curriculum. Wara is one of the first private and secular institutions to incorporate the use of XO computers in primary education.

•    Farm Project:  having regular outings to ensure contact with nature. It is a different social setting and a natural place different from the urban areas in which the children live. Besides, it provides the opportunity of learning natural sciences according to the goals of each level. This project is developed in “Agustina’s Farm”

•    Expressive Languages: we understand it as way of integrating all the areas of expression and also as a vehicle for communicating and learning.

•    Sexual Education: this topic is approached from an interdisciplinary perspective referring to Education, Health, Sexology, Medicine and Psychology.

•    Physical Education (PH): gymnastics, swimming and recreation. PH allows children to develop psychomotor abilities for a harmonious and healthy growth.

•    Sports’ School: Football, basketball and gymnastics. The development of sport provides a degree of motivation, both among children and the family, allowing an important educational-training work. The school aims at children facing sports with a spirit of loyalty and honesty, focusing on the pleasure of playing and competing without external pressure.

•    Camps: A three-days experience to see new places and interact with friends, teachers and with the environment; enriching the classroom experience.
